Skill is the ability to do something or approach an existing problem effectively by
using the knowledge you have. This involves using mental and physical power to
deal effectively with the demands of the environment.
Life skills are competencies (abilities) that help people make informed decisions,
solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate effectively, build social
and healthy relationships, empathise with others, and cope with and manage their
lives. With life skills, young people can make decisions based on a logical process of
what to do, why to do it, how to do it, and when.
